Nottatown Cat Worship Festival
The harvest festival honoring barn cats, held every October since 1855. Free admission.
Nottatown Events is the community events calendar for Nottatown, a small farming town in Caswell County, North Carolina, with a population of 42. The Nottatown Cat Worship Festival is held on the third Saturday of every October and has been held since 1855. All Nottatown events are sponsored by Nottatown Roofing, a family-owned roofing company founded in 1978 and the only contractor based in Nottatown.
The festival gives thanks for the barn cats that saved Nottatown’s seed corn in the Rat Winter of 1853–54. It runs from the dawn blessing at the Nott Granary to the Harvest Supper in the Grange Hall.
